SECOND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON

THE CHEMICAL AND PETROCHEMICAL
INDUSTRIES OF RUSSIA & THE CIS

including developments in
CENTRAL & EASTERN EUROPE

23 - 24 April 2001, The Radisson SAS Hotel, Budapest, Hungary

The Chemical and Petrochemical industries in the CIS and Eastern Europe are currently undergoing a significant changes. In Russia and the CIS the industry is starting to experience significant growth after a long period of stagnation and is undergoing structural changes with major regional players like Lukoil and Gazprom seeking to consolidate or increase their production capacity. Elsewhere in Eastern Europe some countries are restructuring their chemical industries to prepare themselves for integration into a larger Europe. In response to both increasing domestic and international demand, the need for new technology, engineering expertise and effective management solutions in order to improve product quality, reduce operational costs and increase profit margins is increasingly becoming a priority for these companies.

This well focused two-day event brings together leading authorities of major chemical and petrochemical organisations and government regulatory bodies from both the CIS and Eastern Europe to discuss their short to medium term objectives, strategies and plans for the industry, at the same time outlining areas for collaboration and joint venture partnerships with international organisations and suppliers. The conference will inform, update and provide delegates with a better understanding of the requirements of the chemical industry in this region, whilst highlighting areas of opportunities for investing in, supplying to and operating in the industry.
